Description: Typically 1960s combination of Richard Allen Morris’ painting, sculpture, and the found object are manifest this small and intimate work from the middle of that decade–a toy boat. A hole where the mast would go conveniently allows for wall-mounting, but it is tempting to simply let the piece sit casually on a tabletop or shelf as an offhand sculptural object. Signed in the paint on the vessel’s port quarter, as well as in pen and dated on the deck (which becomes the bottom of the work).
