Designer/Maker:
Robert Trout- One of Southern California's premier wood and
metal workers.
Description:
Turned vermilion bowl with birch pegs. The exterior was also
hand carved to produce a subtle, faceted surface that contrasts with
the smoothly finished interior. A brilliant example of Trout's woodworking
skill and excellent modern form, this bowl is published in Dona Meilach's
important 1968 book, Contemporary Art with Wood. Signed and dated
by the artist, 'Trout '66.'
