Leon Roloff – Another San Diego artist-educator originally
from Wisconsin, Roloff first settled in Fallbrook as a ceramics instructor
in 1958. He later studied sculpture at San Diego State College during
the
mid-1960s with John Rogers and Jack Hopkins. In 1970 he became a member
of
the Allied Craftsmen and exhibited many of his most sculptural stoneware
pieces in their annual shows. Roloff taught for many years at Granite
Hills High School and over time began to focus on the production of
mostly
functional ware.
