Description:
A rare item designed to showcase four of George Nelson’s
tile
designs for Pomona Tile. The familiar tiles have been cut diagonally
and
set into the tray to create a mosaic. The Pomona Tile Company of Los
Angeles is well known for collaborating with Paul McCobb, Saul Bass,
Paul
Laslo & Millard Sheets to create its “Distinguished Designer
Series” but
Nelson’s tile designs were independent of that group. The tray
is marked
Pomona Tile and signed by George Nelson.
