- Item:
Enameled Dish SOLD
- Artist/Designer:
A unique and early work that features an unusual purely abstract design.
Produced before 1950, this dish is numbered 156! By the early 70s
they had made over 5,000 dishes, and they are all numbered. The inclusion
of a title: “Disclosure” and the absence of any counter
enamel make this a very distinctive piece from the formative years
of the Woolley partnership. This example even pre-dates their earliest
production orders commissioned by Gumps of San Francisco which are
also signed “Woolley Enamels, for Gumps” and number around
the low 200s. In the typical circular fashion, the bottom of this
dish is etched: *Woolley Enamels*California* #156 “Disclosure”
- Dimensions:
5.5" diameter.
- Condition:
Some surface wear and light scratches. Edge of dish has a
bend, as pictured, although there has been no cracking to the enameled
surface.
