June Schwarcz. Sausalito, CA. June Schwarcz is among the most highly
regarded artists in the enameling field today. Her work is in the
collections of major institutions throughout the country. In recognition
of her achievements, an important survey exhibition entitled "June
Schwarcz: Forty Years/Forty Pieces" was organized by the San
Francisco Craft and Folk Art Museum in 1988 and subsequently traveled
for more than two years to institutions throughout this country. In
her emphasis on technical process and alternate methods of fabrication,
Schwarcz has been one of the most innovative artists in the field.
She is also among the first enamel artists whose work has successfully
made the transition from its origins in functional form and craft
traditions to the level of "high art."

Truly amazing example by this world renown enamel artist. Enamel on
copper bowl with electroforming. This piece was exhibited at the 11th
Triennial California Design Exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of Art
in 1971 and published in the printed catalogue "California Design
Eleven" on page 149. Retains exhibition numbering label which
is referenced in catalogue index as pictured. Circa 1970.
