Designer/Maker:

and welded steel sculptures as a member of the San Diego Art Guild,
Saito was a prolific and well-respected potter and it his work in
this medium for which he is best remembered.
Description:
A wheel-thrown body is altered and combined with sculptural
slab elements which bring it into the area between functional stoneware
and sculpture. Hand-built forms create abstract patterns which interact
with areas of glazed and unglazed clay. Glazes, when applied, are
typical of Saito: milky grays and blues. Signed Saito ’75.
