- Designer/Maker:
Maurice Grossman – A legendary Arizona potter he studied at
Wayne State University, Ohio State University, Alfred University and
the Society of Arts and Crafts, Detroit. He taught at the University
of Arizona for over 30 years and was a founding member of the Arizona
Designer Craftsmen. He would receive numerous grants and awards and
some selected exhibitions include:

- Description:
Hand built figure on a stool from the Viet Nam era when
Grossman produced many similar sculptures both individually and in
groups on slab-built rafts with titles like “Boat of Soldiers”
and “Queen’s Barge.” This seated warrior was originally
in the inventory of the Dick Seeger Design Gallery in Scottsdale,
AZ.
