Item: Robert Trout Hanging Planter

Designer/Maker: One of Southern California’s premiere craft artists, Robert Trout taught at Long Beach State and was a member of the unusually rich craft scene associated with the school, as well the Southern California Designer Craftsmen and the AMerican Craftsmen’s Council. Examples of his woodworking, jewelry and furniture were included in almost every California Design exhibition during the 1960s and 1970s as well as numerous national craft exhibitions.

Description: Two of three hanging planters or pots made of handbuilt stoneware by esteemed California artist and craftsman Robert Trout.  The shapes are all sort of flat and relate as a group, but each of the three suspended pots is distinct as shown in the slideshow images. They can be hung with anything, but are currently strung with twine. No drainage holes. Unsigned, acquired directly from the artist.

Dimensions: All approximately 6.25 x 5.5 x 2.25 inches

Condition: Very good-some dirt inside from use as planters

Price: $180 ea or $425 for all three
